Teamwork Evaluation and Modeling, Inc. was formed in early 2015. The company’s founders – Harry Delugach, Sandra Carpenter, Letha Etzkorn, and Dawn Utley – hold the major management roles in the corporation. They have worked together as an interdisciplinary team since 2004, conducting experiments and publishing research on team success, cognition, and effectiveness. We are a licensed affiliate of the University of Alabama in Huntsville. We are based in Huntsville, Alabama, a community recognized by Forbes magazine and others as one of the best technology centers in the U.S.
Teamwork Evaluation and Modeling, Inc. uses science-based principles and practices to increase team members’ shared understanding of their interdependent tasks. Our goal is to improve team performance by aligning members’ knowledge of their team processes, thereby enhancing team members’ coordination. See our Services for examples of what we do. Sandra Carpenter, Ph.D.
Director of Team Development, with 12 years experience in studying/evaluating teams and teamwork training, 30 years in psychological research. She received her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of California in Santa Barbara, a B.A. in Psychology and a B.A. in Philosophy from California State University in Fullerton. She has provided teamwork training to various organizations including DOE and the Missile and Space Intelligence Center.
Harry Delugach, Ph.D.
Director of Technical Development, with 30 years experience in software development and modeling, including team processes. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from The University of Virginia, an M.S. in Computer Science from The University of Tennessee and a B.A. in Chemistry from Carleton College. Prior to his academic career, he worked as a programming analyst for the DOE in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Letha Etzkorn, Ph.D., P.E.
Director of Marketing, with 30 years in software development (including team processes and quality analysis) and hardware development. She received her Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science from The University of Alabama in Huntsville, an M.S.E.E.and B.E.E (Electrical Engineering) from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Prior to her academic career, she worked for Motorola, Hayes Microcomputer Products, and Lockheed-Georgia as a senior design engineer.
Dawn Utley, Ph.D., P.E.
Director of Team Development, with 15 years experience in studying/evaluating teams and team training, 25 years studying engineers & technical organizations. She received her Ph.D.in Engineering Management from The University of Alabama in Huntsville, an M.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee, and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Tennessee Technological University. Prior to her academic career, she worked for TVA as a structural engineer.
